Dongdaemun-gu in Seoul will host a youth festival called "Donggeurami, Dongdaemun Playground" on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Seoul Metropolitan Dongdaemun Youth Center, located at 25 Jegi-ro 33-gil, Dongdaemun-gu.
Organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Dongdaemun Youth Center, the festival invites young people to create and share experiences with their neighbors, offering a wide range of cultural and hands-on activities close to their everyday lives.
All programs are free. The festivities kick off at noon with a one-hour laser show at the small theater on the fifth floor of the center. The venue seats 154, with young attendees admitted on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 11 a.m.; adults may enter from 11:45 a.m. if seats remain.
Experience booths running through 5 p.m. will feature a mini Viking ride, an air bounce, an instant photo booth, an escape room, science experiments, an asteroid-themed play zone and a fashion design workshop — all aimed at sparking curiosity and imagination in young visitors.
Participants who collect stamps at the booths can redeem them like coupons at a food zone opening at 1 p.m., where snacks on offer include steak, sausages, tteokbokki, fish cake, fruit mochi, ramyun and beverages.
Dongdaemun-gu has overseen operations at the Seoul Metropolitan Dongdaemun Youth Center since July, actively supporting youth programs tailored to local needs. The district plans to continue expanding opportunities for youth participation and community engagement through close collaboration with the center.
