Seoul's Eunpyeong-gu will host the 7th Eunpyeong-gu Youth Esports Festival on Saturday, bringing together young players, families and local residents to compete and celebrate gaming culture.

The event is designed to promote healthy gaming habits among youth and foster intergenerational exchange. It will feature esports competition finals alongside family team matches and hands-on experience programs.

The festival's main event, the "Fair Play Eunpyeong" finals, will be played on the mobile game Brawl Stars. Participants — youth who live in Eunpyeong-gu or attend schools in the district — are divided into an elementary division (ages 10–13) and a middle and high school division (ages 14–19), with qualifying teams competing in three-person squads for the championship.

Alongside this, families will face off as a unit in a cross-generational team competition, and drop-in programs will be available for visitors. The venue will also feature interactive stations where attendees can try a large-scale keyboard installation and explore AI technology through a university-linked experience booth.

Notably, a youth esports planning committee contributed directly to shaping the program, ensuring the event reflects participants' own ideas. On the day, committee members will serve as commentators and referees.

The festival will be held at the plaza outside Exit 1 of Gupabal Station. The experience booths will be open from noon to 5 p.m., with the opening ceremony beginning at 1:30 p.m.

"Esports is a cultural activity that youth and older generations can enjoy and connect over together," Eunpyeong-gu District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said. "I hope this festival gives young people a stage to show their skills, and offers families and residents a chance for genuine intergenerational exchange."
