Gangdong-gu in Seoul held the "Gangdong-gu Entrepreneur Networking Day" to foster exchange and cooperation between local entrepreneurs and startup support organizations, the district announced Monday.
The event took place Wednesday at the book cafe of the Gangdong-gu Youth Haenaem Center under the theme "A Bigger Tomorrow Made Through Connection." About 70 entrepreneurs and representatives from startup support organizations attended.
Hosted by Gangdong-gu and organized by the Gangdong-gu Startup Support Agency Alliance, the event brought together six institutions: the Gangdong-gu Youth Haenaem Center, the Gangdong-gu Social Economy Support Center, the Gangdong Women's Workforce Development Center, the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation Gangdong Comprehensive Support Center, Seoul Youth Center Gangdong, and the Gangdong Campus of the Youth Employment Academy. Participants received introductions to each organization's support programs and took part in open networking sessions by topic of interest, sharing startup experiences and information.
Jo Yong-min, chief executive of Ithaca & Partners, then delivered a special lecture titled "What Should Entrepreneurs Do in the Age of AI?" Jo outlined strategies for entrepreneurs to read and redesign the business landscape amid a rapidly changing environment, and held a question-and-answer session with attendees.
Gangdong-gu District Mayor Lee Su-hee said she hoped the gathering would serve as a meaningful occasion for entrepreneurs and support organizations to connect and share their experiences and resources. "Going forward, we will continue to build an environment where local entrepreneurs can actively network and grow, centered on the Gangdong-gu Youth Haenaem Center, and stand as a reliable source of support for their endeavors," she said.
