Hadong office joins residents' outing to share updates, gather feedback
The Hadong office of the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority shared updates on the long-delayed Duwoo Leisure Complex development project with local residents.
The office joined a Gopo village residents' outing held Sunday in Goheung, South Jeolla Province, where staff briefed attendees on the project's current status and future direction and collected feedback. The visit came at the invitation of Kim Jeom-u, the head of Gopo village.
During the outing, the office also held its "GFEZ Hadong Acoustic Guitar Outreach" event, using the occasion to engage with residents and receive suggestions related to the project. Kim said he was grateful the Hadong office had "gladly joined us" and expressed hope that "such opportunities for communication will continue."
Choi Yun-jong, head of the Hadong office, said he hoped the gathering would serve as "an opportunity for the public and government to understand each other and explore ways to coexist." He added that the office would maintain ongoing dialogue with residents to ensure the Duwoo Leisure Complex development project "proceeds without a hitch."
The Duwoo Leisure Complex development project aims to build tourism and leisure facilities to revitalize the local economy. The project has faced setbacks and delays, and the Hadong office is currently working to get it back on track.
