Bank tops banking sector in retirement pension asset growth through third quarter
Hana Bank announced Monday that it has added an ETF portfolio option to its Hana MP (Model Portfolio) subscription service for retirement pension customers.
The Hana MP subscription service, the first of its kind among Korean banks when it launched last year, allows the bank's retirement pension specialists to deliver customized portfolios reflecting each customer's investment profile, along with market updates, via KakaoTalk on a regular basis.
With the newly added ETF portfolio option, pension customers can now check their pension asset status and market trends at a glance through KakaoTalk, while also expanding their investment choices beyond the existing fund-centered portfolios to include ETFs — enabling them to select products that better match their individual investment preferences and goals.
"Building on the convenience of remote pension asset management already proven through the Hana MP subscription service, we have significantly expanded customers' options by extending the investment universe to ETFs," a Hana Bank retirement pension group official said. "We will continue to roll out differentiated digital pension services centered on our customers, serving as a steadfast partner for their retirement pension needs."
Hana Bank ranked first among banks in retirement pension reserve growth on a cumulative basis through the third quarter of 2026.
According to comparative disclosures on the Financial Supervisory Service's integrated pension portal, Hana Bank's total retirement pension reserves stood at 52.16 trillion won ($39.4 billion) as of the end of September, up 3.77 trillion won from the end of last year.
Last month, the bank also held a customized seminar at Hana Financial Group's Myeong-dong headquarters for retirement pension customers, offering pension management information and one-on-one consultations with specialists.
"The fact that we were able to sustain solid growth this year, following three consecutive years as the top bank for retirement pension reserve growth, is a testament to the trust our customers have placed in Hana Bank," a bank official said. "We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that our customers' precious pension assets are managed with stability, backed by differentiated customer service and competitive products."
