The North Gyeongsang Provincial Office of Education announced Monday it will hold the "2026 Academic Year Middle and High School Parents' College Admissions Academy."
The series of events kicks off Monday in the eastern region at Pohang's POSCO International Center, followed by Gyeongsan in the southern region on Wednesday, Andong in the northern region on Nov. 5 and Gumi in the western region on Nov. 9. Each session begins at 6:30 p.m.
Pre-registration, which closed Oct. 15, drew more than 1,000 parents across the four regions, reflecting strong interest in changes to the college admissions system and enrollment strategies.
Parents who missed the pre-registration deadline may still sign up on-site on the day of each event.
The program is divided into two parts: a lecture covering major changes to college admissions and preparation strategies, and a talk-concert session where parents can have their questions answered directly.
The first part will feature lead instructors from the North Gyeongsang College Admissions Support Team, speaking on understanding the 2028 college admissions framework and how to prepare for the student record-based comprehensive evaluation.
The second part, titled "Talk Concert on Successful College Admissions Strategies for Your Child," will give parents a chance to interact directly with the instructors.
The education office said it hopes the academy will help parents better understand changes to what can feel like a complex admissions system and draw up realistic enrollment plans tailored to their children's aptitudes and career goals.
"I hope this academy helps parents resolve their questions and map out a direction for their children's future education," North Gyeongsang Superintendent of Education Im Jong-sik said. "We will continue to strengthen region-specific admissions support to build greater trust in public education."
