Some customers' personal information has been leaked from Giftiel, a mobile gift voucher service affiliated with Lotte Group.

Spoon Co., the operator of Giftiel, confirmed Thursday that unauthorized external access had exposed customers' personal data. The leaked information includes names, mobile phone numbers, email addresses and refund account numbers. Spoon is a subsidiary of Daehong Communications, an advertising firm under Lotte Group.

In a public notice, Spoon said it was "deeply sorry again for failing to protect customers' valuable information" and pledged to "do its utmost to prevent additional damage and stop any recurrence."

The company said it blocked the attacking IP address immediately after detecting the breach, tightened system access controls, and reported the incident to security authorities and relevant government agencies while requesting an investigation.

Spoon said it is conducting a joint investigation with the relevant authorities, strengthening database access monitoring and developing measures to prevent a recurrence. The company is also notifying affected customers individually by text message.
