Inje-gun, Gangwon Province and tourism foundation team up for Speedium event
The Road Spirit Motorcycle Festa brought life to the quiet mountain borderlands of Gangwon Province on Friday and Saturday, drawing riders and spectators to the Inje Speedium circuit.
The event is a signature tourism program of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, linking the region's pristine natural attractions — among them Naerin Stream, the birch forest of Wondae-ri, the Misiryeong Healing Road, Baekdamsa Temple and Osaeknyeong Pass — with the thrill of motorsport.
A pre-festival concert on Friday featured singer Kim Yeon-ja alongside Angel Noise, Peek and Jang Tae-ung. Saturday's program opened with an inauguration ceremony, followed by a circuit parade of more than 1,000 motorcycles and a range of hands-on activities.
The Inje Speedium circuit offered both introductory and sport-level riding sessions, giving participants a chance to experience the appeal of track riding firsthand.
Brand showcases and experience zones from Harley-Davidson, KTM and QJ Moto anchored the exhibition floor, while additional attractions included a Lara Classic micro-racer experience, a tortoise race, a classic car museum, kart rides and food trucks.
A motorcycle road-safety seminar also took place during the event, with discussions focused on fostering a safer riding culture and improving conditions for motorcyclists on public roads.
The Gangwon Tourism Foundation said the festival gave it an opportunity to showcase distinctive motorcycle-themed tourism content and to generate new visitor demand by connecting the Misiryeong Healing Road with the broader tourism resources of the Inje area.
