Posco E&C was selected Saturday as the contractor for the remodeling of the Isu Shindonga 4 apartment complex in Dongjak-gu, Seoul, after winning 504 of 544 votes — a 92.6 percent approval rate — at a general assembly of the project association. The project is valued at 526.4 billion won ($397 million).
Located at 110 Dongjak-daero 29-gil in Dongjak-gu, the complex will be transformed through the remodeling from eight buildings with 912 units into a development of eight buildings with 1,048 units, spanning six below-ground floors to 21 above-ground floors.
Posco E&C has proposed naming the redeveloped complex "The Sharp Isuyeok El Platz," combining the Spanish definite article "el" and the German word "Platz," meaning plaza.
The complex will feature a fitness club, library, private reading rooms, a golf practice range, a botanical garden cafe and a children's cafe.
"Drawing on our accumulated remodeling expertise and track record of successful projects, we will deliver the finest residential spaces," a Posco E&C official said.
