Shin Sang-hoon kept himself in contention for a second straight day at the Genesis Championship, a co-sanctioned event between the KPGA Tour and the DP World Tour carrying a $4 million purse.

Shin carded five birdies and three bogeys for a 2-under-par 69 on Friday at Woojeong Hills Country Club (par 71) in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province. His two-round total of 7-under 135 dropped him from sole second place Thursday to a share of third.

He sits three strokes behind co-leaders Casey Jarvis of South Africa and Antoine Rozner of France, both at 10-under 132. Ryan Fox of New Zealand, Martin Couvra of France and Filippo Celli of Italy also share third place with Shin.

Starting on the 10th hole, Shin dropped a shot at the par-4 11th with a three-putt bogey, then found a penalty zone off the tee at the par-3 13th for another bogey. He bounced back with a 6.6-meter birdie putt at the par-4 15th, followed by a chip-in birdie from 11.4 meters at the par-3 16th. A birdie at the par-5 18th left him 1 under through his opening nine holes.

On the back nine, Shin holed a birdie putt of about 7 meters at the par-4 2nd. A wayward tee shot led to a bogey at the par-5 5th, but he recovered with a birdie at the par-3 7th to close out his round.
