Damyang-gun held the inaugural session of its "Eum Talk Lounge" on Thursday, launching a communication program designed to foster open dialogue between the county chief and staff in a relaxed setting.

The program's name conveys the idea of bridging the gap between the county chief and employees through conversation. Each month it will bring together staff of various ranks and roles to share the direction of county administration and speak freely about workplace challenges and ideas for improving organizational culture.

The first session featured newly appointed staff hired in early October, with the aim of hearing about the difficulties they face as they begin their public service careers and gaining a fresh perspective on established procedures and practices. The session was also intended to help new employees feel a stronger sense of belonging and settle comfortably into their roles.

"The things that feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable to you as you take your first steps in public service can be the starting point for changing our organization for the better," Damyang-gun County Chief Park Jong-won said. "I will listen carefully to even the smallest suggestions and pay close attention to ensuring that new employees can adapt to the organization with confidence and fully develop their abilities."
