The nonprofit Huimang-eul Naneuneun Saramdeul (Hope Sharing People) will provide scholarships, computers and daily necessities to underprivileged children and teenagers in Yeosu, South Jeolla Province, to expand their educational opportunities and improve their living conditions.

The organization visited Yeosu on Tuesday and signed a "Hope Sharing Movement" MOU with the city to promote the welfare and educational opportunities of vulnerable youth in the area, also holding a ceremony to hand over scholarships, computers and donated goods.

Under the agreement, the organization will provide scholarships and computers to 20 children and teenagers living in Yeosu.

It will also donate 300 million won ($226,000) worth of daily necessities and other goods in kind to residents in need over the next two years.

Kim Dong-woo, vice chairman of Huimang-eul Naneuneun Saramdeul, said a child's circumstances should never determine the size of their dreams. "We hope the scholarships and computers will give students hope and courage, and serve as a meaningful foundation for them to take one more step toward their dreams," he said.

Yeosu Mayor Seo Yeong-hak expressed gratitude for the organization's active support for children and teenagers in difficult circumstances. "We will do our best to help these children freely pursue their dreams and grow up bright and healthy," he said.

Huimang-eul Naneuneun Saramdeul said it plans to continue supporting marginalized neighbors through community-linked social contribution activities and to promote a culture of sharing.
