Broadcaster Choi Hwa-jung got laughs after revealing why she delayed her flu shot by two weeks.

A video titled "Human preservative Choi Hwa-jung! First-ever reveal of her 40-year daily sauna routine (+ MZ sauna essentials)" was posted Thursday on her YouTube channel "Hello, I'm Choi Hwa-jung."

The video shows Choi visiting a sauna in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, enjoying the spa and then sitting down for a meal.

During a toast with the production crew, one staff member said "jjan" — a casual Korean drinking cheer — prompting Choi to push back. "Why 'jjan'? We should say 'wihayeo,'" she said, insisting on the more formal toast.

When a producer jokingly said she sounded "like an ajumma, sunbae," Choi fired back with a grin. "Really? I'm not even an ajumma anymore. I'm a grandmother now," she said.

The crew tried to talk her out of it, but Choi launched into a recent anecdote. "I went to the clinic not long ago to get my flu vaccine, and they told me, 'If you come back in two weeks, it'll be free.' That's just where I am in life," she said.

"So I said, 'Sure, I'll come back in two weeks.' And why not? I saved about 40,000 to 50,000 won ($38)," she added, drawing more laughter.

Born in 1961, Choi made her debut in 1979 as a TBC talent agency recruit.
