DL E&C has proposed naming the Haan Jugong 9 complex in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi Province, "e Convenience World Gwangmyeong Rivermark."

The company said Thursday it submitted a bid proposal for a negotiated contract to serve as the contractor for the Haan Jugong 9 reconstruction project.

The project, with a construction cost of 930.9 billion won ($702 million), will transform the complex into a development with four below-ground floors, up to 45 above-ground floors, 15 buildings and 2,218 units, based on the contractor's alternative design.

DL E&C said its design prioritizes maximizing units with views of the Anyangcheon through specialized architectural planning. The company moved away from conventional, monotonous apartment aesthetics, instead pursuing a modern, upscale facade with a rhythmic vertical pattern. It also proposed significantly expanding the landscaped area compared with the original plan, allowing residents to enjoy nature within the complex.

The proposal also includes four duplex penthouse units and five view-oriented penthouse units. Premium amenities — a sky lounge, sports court, sauna, family cinema and dining room — are part of the specialized design, along with an educational community space for residents' children.

DL E&C had previously entered the contractor selection bid organized by Kyobo Asset Trust, the project implementer for Haan Jugong 9, as the sole participant, securing preferred negotiation status. Kyobo Asset Trust plans to hold a full contractor selection meeting on Nov. 29 after reviewing the proposal.

"We will make the Haan Jugong 9 project a success, leveraging its rare combination of natural surroundings along the Anyangcheon, a stable educational environment, and transportation links and lifestyle infrastructure connecting to Seoul," a DL E&C official said. "We will create a landmark complex in Gwangmyeong where residents can enjoy the waterfront."

Meanwhile, DL E&C has been asserting its presence at key urban renewal sites this year, having secured the Mokdong 6 complex contract worth 1.29 trillion won. If it clinches construction rights for both the Seongsu District 2 project (2.01 trillion won) in November and the Haan Jugong 9 complex (930.9 billion won), the company is on track to reach more than 4 trillion won in urban renewal contracts for the year.
