After earning initial certification last year, the state mint wins an excellence award this year
Reading clubs and knowledge sharing aim to strengthen business transformation capabilities
Korea Minting and Security Printing Corp. has been named a top reading-management workplace in South Korea for the second consecutive year.
The state-run mint announced Friday it received the Korea Publication Industry Promotion Agency director's award — the excellence prize — at the 2026 Korea Reading Management Excellent Workplace certification ceremony. The recognition follows the company's initial certification last year.
The certification is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Publication Industry Promotion Agency, and is awarded to companies and institutions that have excelled in promoting a reading culture and reading-management activities in the workplace.
The corporation has been pursuing reading-management initiatives to support business diversification driven by digital transformation and to secure future growth engines. The aim is to raise the organization's learning capacity and adaptability to change by encouraging employees to share diverse knowledge and perspectives.
On its internal intranet, the company operates a "Book Insight" board where employees share reading experiences and knowledge, and it supports voluntary employee reading clubs. It also holds author lectures and community book-donation drives.
The corporation has also continued publishing books that draw on its institutional experience and expertise. Following earlier titles on the future of currency technology and the future of state-owned enterprises, it released "Stories of Money That Change the World" in mid-October, sharing knowledge and experience related to currency technology and public enterprise management.
"Reading is an important foundation for gaining new perspectives and ideas and for building the capacity to respond to change," said Korea Minting and Security Printing Corp. President Seong Chang-hun. "Going forward, we will continue to connect employees' voluntary learning and knowledge sharing to business transformation and management innovation, strengthening the organization's adaptability and securing sustainable growth engines."
