The 6th International Healthcare and Medtech Conference (IHMC) will be held over two days — Oct. 28 and 29 — at the Healthcare Innovation Park of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital.
Held under the theme "Connecting Hospitals. Transforming Healthcare," the conference will bring together leading hospitals, academic institutions, industry players, government bodies and international organizations from more than 15 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, China and Russia, to discuss how AI and digital technology are reshaping healthcare and how to foster collaboration in that transformation.
The conference aims to share experiences across institutions and borders so that promising ideas can translate into better medical care. Organizers also hope the connections formed at the event will grow into sustained partnerships, enabling more people to access effective and sustainable healthcare.
On the first day, keynote sessions and panel discussions will cover topics including AI's impact on everyday life and medicine, the shift from digital healthcare to AI-native healthcare, innovation in medical services through AI and digital technology, virtual and telemedicine services, and the role and priorities of the Global Smart Hospital Alliance.
The second day will address the current state of medical AI in 2026, sustainable smart health systems for emerging economies, universal health coverage in developing countries and the role of development banks, addiction issues and CPR education for youth, and AI-based senior living and wellness.
On the first day, a startup showcase will give healthcare startups a platform to present their innovative technologies and business models. The showcase will open with an overview of biohealth investment trends in the United States, South Korea and Singapore, and a panel of judges drawn from investors and industry will evaluate participating companies and present awards.
On the second day, an inaugural meeting will be held for an international CPR education and competition program targeting high school students. Supported by the Global Smart Hospital Alliance, the program will involve South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, Mexico, India, Singapore, the Philippines and Turkey. It will use an extended reality (XR)-based CPR training platform to strengthen students' emergency response skills and create a forum for exchange among schools in participating countries.
Jeon Sang-hoon, chief executive of HealthOnCloud and former president of Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, said AI, digital health and telemedicine are transforming the face of medical services. "I hope the two days of in-depth discussion and new connections will serve as a springboard for moving forward together toward the future of healthcare," he said.
The conference is organized by Bundang Seoul National University Hospital, HealthOnCloud and the Global Smart Hospital Alliance, with support from the Asian Development Bank, the Global Digital Innovation Network and the Asian Thoracic Academy. The event is invitation-based, but those wishing to attend may pre-register on the official website.
