Yeungnam University of Science and Technology held its "2026 International Student-Company Matching Day" at the Cheonma Square Convention Hall on Tuesday.
About 50 people attended the event, including university President Lee Jae-yong, representatives from six Daegu-based companies, officials from the Korea Foundation for Advancement of Root Industries, and students.
The event featured Korean-language presentations by outstanding international students and introductions by participating companies, followed by one-on-one career consultations and a matching program between corporate recruiters and students.
The program gave students access to hiring information while allowing companies to meet prospective talent directly.
Notably, 10 of the 11 international students who participated in last year's event secured employment.
All 24 international students taking part this year are expected to join Daegu-area foundational industry firms upon graduation, after passing skills assessments, the university said.
"We will strengthen cooperation with industry and related organizations to connect international students' education with employment, and actively support the development of practice-ready talent and their settlement in the region to meet local companies' workforce needs," President Lee said.
