The medical drama series "Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia" has topped Netflix's global non-English show chart for two consecutive weeks, Yonhap reported.
According to Netflix's official Top 10 chart on its Tudum site, "Doctor X" recorded 7.1 million views — measured as total watch time divided by runtime — for the week of Oct. 12 to Oct. 18, ranking first among all non-English shows.
The series premiered Oct. 9 and shot straight to No. 1 within three days of its release, holding the top spot for two consecutive weeks.
It ranked first in seven countries, including South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia, and landed in the top 10 in 48 countries.
Starring actor Kim Ji-won, the series is adapted from the Japanese TV Asahi drama series "Doctor X: Surgeon Michiko Daimon" and follows a brilliant physician who takes on the authority and corruption of the medical establishment.
Airing as an SBS Friday-Saturday drama series, it drew an 11.4 percent viewership rating for its first episode and 18.5 percent for its fourth, according to Nielsen Korea's nationwide figures, putting a 20 percent rating within reach.
Three other Korean titles also made Netflix's non-English top 10 during the same period.
"Recharge Me," a romantic drama series starring Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin, came in second with 6.4 million views.
The show also premiered Oct. 9 and entered the chart at No. 3 within three days before climbing one spot, reaching the top 10 in 64 countries worldwide.
"100 Days of Lies," featuring Park Jin-young and Kim You-jung, ranked fourth with 2.8 million views, appearing in the top 10 in 22 countries.
The series, which premiered Oct. 10, is a spy romance set in 1932 colonial-era Gyeongseong and follows the city's most skilled pickpocket and an interpreter for the Japanese Government-General of Korea, both dreaming of a new life in the United States.
