Double-digit hires planned for management and technical roles
Firm aims to diversify into specialty materials and eco-friendly products
H&L Advanced, the integrated company formed by the merger of HD Hyundai Chemical and Lotte Daesan Petrochemical, announced Wednesday that it is launching its first open recruitment drive for new employees in the second half of the year. The company plans to hire double-digit numbers of candidates each in management and technical roles.
H&L Advanced was established as part of a government-led petrochemical industry restructuring effort. It officially launched in September following the merger of HD Hyundai Chemical and Lotte Daesan Petrochemical. HD Hyundai Oilbank and Lotte Chemical each hold a 50 percent stake in the company.
"We are optimizing the entire process from raw material procurement to product production by combining the strengths of our refining and petrochemical operations," a company official said. H&L Advanced also plans to diversify its business portfolio with a focus on specialty materials and eco-friendly products.
For management positions, the company is recruiting across six areas: planning, human resources, finance and accounting, sales, production management (chemical engineering, mechanical, and electrical and electronic), and safety and environment. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree or higher in any field, or be on track to graduate in February 2027. Applications are open from Wednesday through Nov. 10 via the H&L Advanced recruitment website.
For technical positions, applications close Nov. 1. The company is recruiting in two areas: production (chemical engineering, mechanical, and electrical and electronic) and safety and environment. Eligible candidates include high school and associate degree graduates, as well as those expected to graduate in February 2027. In addition to the general track, a regional talent track for applicants from Seosan is also available.
The selection process consists of a document screening, an AI competency assessment, first and second-round interviews, and a pre-employment medical examination. Technical applicants will also sit a written test, while management candidates will undergo an additional third-round interview.
H&L Advanced plans to use this recruitment drive to strengthen staffing and key functions at its Seoul office and Daesan plant. The company aims to improve operational efficiency and translate the benefits of the restructuring into tangible business results.
"This open recruitment is the first step in bringing in the talent who will embark on this new journey with us," a company official said. "We will combine the strengths gained through restructuring with the capabilities of our new hires to build sustainable results."
