Daegu city held a certification ceremony Tuesday at its Sangyeok office, presenting employment-friendly company certificates to 34 firms — three newly selected and 31 recertified.

The employment-friendly company designation is a jobs brand awarded to firms headquartered or operating in Daegu that meet criteria including a minimum of 30 full-time workers, a starting annual salary of at least 35 million won ($26,300) for college graduates, and at least 10 types of employee welfare programs.

A total of 59 companies currently hold the certification.

The three newly selected companies this year are Birak, Pyeonghwa Valeo and BNC Korea.

Based on 2025 figures, the newly certified firms posted average annual revenue of 305.2 billion won, employed an average of 359 workers, offered college graduates an average starting salary of 40.32 million won, and operated an average of 22 in-house welfare programs.

The 31 recertified companies include L&F, Isupetasys and THN. Based on last year's figures, they recorded average annual revenue of 476 billion won, employed an average of 560 workers, paid college graduates an average starting salary of 41.49 million won, and maintained an average of 26 welfare programs.

Certified companies receive benefits including up to 17 million won per firm in tailored support for improving their employment environment, online and offline promotional assistance, participation in youth awareness events, employee morale-boosting programs, and preferential treatment in various business support projects.

Daegu Mayor Choo Kyung-ho said employment-friendly companies are "leading firms that drive employment stability and improvements in working conditions across the region," adding that the city would "do its utmost to actively identify and support outstanding local companies so that young people can access better job opportunities."
