Comedian Maeng Seung-ji, who recently went public with her doctor boyfriend, has hinted that she is preparing to get married.
Maeng shared a video on Instagram on Monday recounting her love story with her boyfriend, captioning it "Bit by bit."
In the video, Maeng said her boyfriend had previously lived and worked near Sinsa Station but moved to Ilsan, where she lives, just three days after they started dating. "He said he wanted to see me every day and be close to me, so he moved," she said.
She added that he relocated to Ilsan to be near her even though his workplace was only a three-minute walk from his old home. "It was absurd and unbelievable, but I thought, 'This person really loves me,'" she said.
Maeng also described her boyfriend as a man of remarkable determination, saying he confessed his feelings to her about 20 times without any blow to his pride. "His mindset was, 'I'll confess as many times as it takes.' We got together after 20 confessions," she said. "A man who likes you doesn't keep you guessing."
After a commenter on the post asked, "Shouldn't you just get married?" Maeng replied, "At the time I wasn't thinking about marriage, but I guess it's time to slowly start preparing" — a response widely read as a hint that a wedding may be on the way.
Maeng made her debut in 2013 as a comedian recruited through MBC's 20th open audition. She first caught the public's attention playing a reporter in a summer variety camp special on MBC's "Infinite Challenge," winning fans over with her lively interview segments. She went on to appear regularly on comedy programs including MBC's "The Road of Comedy" and SBS's "People Looking for Laughter."
