K-pop boy group Tempest is disbanding four years after its debut.

Agency YH Entertainment announced Tuesday that after lengthy and careful discussions with the members, it had decided to halt the group's activities and focus on each member's individual career.

According to the agency, member Hyeok will enlist in the military on Monday, while Ruu's exclusive contract will expire on Nov. 1. The remaining four members — Hanbin, Hyeongsep, Eunchan and Taerae — will continue individual activities with the agency's support.

"We will never forget the time we spent together under the name Tempest, nor the precious love our fans have shown us," the agency said, asking fans to continue supporting each member as they go their separate ways.

Tempest debuted in March 2022 and drew attention even before its launch, with Hyeongsep and Ruu joining the lineup as alumni of the popular Mnet talent show "Produce 101 Season 2."

The group launched as a seven-member act — Hyeongsep, Eunchan, Ruu, Hyeok, Hanbin, Taerae and Hwarang — before transitioning to a six-member lineup after Hwarang's departure in 2024.
