The 21st Jeju Horse Festival, co-hosted by the Korea Racing Authority's Jeju regional headquarters and Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, will be held at Let's Run Park Jeju on Saturday and Sunday.
This year's festival combines traditional horse culture with tourism and leisure programs. Visitors can explore the festival grounds through an immersive concept centered on the "tewuri," Jeju's traditional horse herder, across four themed zones.
On Saturday at 6 p.m., the racetrack's sand course will host a night marathon called the "Reckless Hero Run," featuring a 400-meter family run and a 3.2-kilometer competitive run. The entry fee is 10,000 won ($8), and finishers will receive commemorative gifts worth 50,000 won. Registration is available through Runnable, a running platform.
On Sunday at 6 p.m., the "Reckless Concert" will feature performers including Kim Tae-woo, Gyeongseo, Gabien J and Kim Yeon-dae. Attendees can register in advance through the festival's official website or sign up on-site.
Saturday will also feature a special commemorative race honoring Reckless, the war horse that served during the Korean War, along with the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Governor's Cup race. A winner-prediction contest and prize giveaways are also planned.
"We have prepared a variety of programs so visitors can experience Jeju's unique horse culture," a Korea Racing Authority official said.
