Changpyeong-myeon in Damyang-gun will host the 12th Changpyeong Traditional Food Festival and the 30th Seniors' Day celebration together at the Changhung Hakdang grounds from Thursday to Friday.

The festival is designed to promote Changpyeong's traditional cuisine and distinctive food culture while bringing together local residents and tourists.

Throughout the two-day event, the Changhung Hakdang grounds will feature traditional foods and a range of attractions reflecting the area's culinary heritage.

This year, organizers are pairing the festival with a Seniors' Day celebration to honor elderly residents who have contributed to the community's development and to reflect on the values of respect for elders.

Changpyeong-myeon hopes the event will raise the profile of the area's traditional food and culture while fostering community unity and boosting the local economy.

Lee Won-hyu, chairman of the Changpyeong-myeon Civic and Social Organizations Council, said he hopes the festival will "spread the flavors and charm of Changpyeong and give residents and visitors a chance to connect." He added that organizers would work to ensure "everyone can participate joyfully" while expressing gratitude to the elders who have long served the community.
