'Seven Companies, Seven Colors Cinema Day' held Saturday at Lotte Cinema Busan Myeongji
108 workers and families from three prime contractors and their subcontractors invited
The Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the "Seven Companies, Seven Colors Family Cinema Day" on Saturday afternoon at Lotte Cinema Busan Myeongji, inviting 108 workers and their families from three prime contractors — Oriental Precision & Engineering, KTE and Panasia — and their subcontractors, the chamber announced Monday.
The event was organized as part of the "2026 Busan Shipbuilding Industry Regional Mutual Growth Gap-Reduction Support Project," backed by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Busan city government. Running through a welfare program tailored to each participating prime contractor, the event aimed to narrow the welfare gap between prime and subcontract workers and extend cultural and welfare benefits to their families.
Workers who attended expressed strong satisfaction at being able to enjoy a weekend evening at the movies with their families. An official from one of the participating prime contractors said, "It is rewarding to be able to offer subcontract workers, who sweat alongside us on the shipbuilding floor, a chance to step away from daily life and enjoy cultural benefits."
The chamber also provided participants with a snack package that included movie tickets, popcorn, drinks and snacks.
