Gangdong-gu in Seoul will hold a job-matching fair Oct. 27 at the Gangdong Community Center, the district announced Friday.

Six companies and institutions will take part: Coupang Inc's fulfillment service arm, Woowa Youths, the district-run Songpa Senior Care Center, Maeil Call Taxi, the Seoul city-run Gangdong Silver Care Center and Wuji Enterprise. The participating organizations will conduct on-site interviews across a range of fields — including logistics, elderly care, taxi driving, store stocking and cleaning — and plan to hire up to 172 people.

Job seekers who wish to attend can pre-register through Oct. 23 via the Gangdong-gu website, Naver Forms or by calling the district's employment policy office. Those who miss the pre-registration deadline may still participate on the day of the event by bringing a resume and identification and registering on-site.

The venue will also host side events open to all residents. An employment counseling and partner-agency booth will provide information on the national job-support system, free vocational training courses, and employment resources for women and senior citizens.

Gangdong-gu, in its ninth elected term, has made job creation a priority. The Godeok Biz Valley development has emerged as a key hub for local employment. The district recently received the top prize in the local job disclosure category at the 2026 National Local Government Employment Awards, organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

"I hope this event becomes a place where job seekers and employers can find the opportunities they need from each other," Gangdong-gu District Mayor Lee Su-hee said. "We will continue to pursue tailored employment support that offers real, practical help to those looking for work."
