South Korean striker Oh Hyun-kyu, 25, scored twice to lead Besiktas to a victory in European club competition.

Besiktas traveled to SNP Arena in Hoffenheim, Germany, on Friday (Korea Standard Time) for their second 2026-27 UEFA Europa League league-phase match against Hoffenheim.

Starting as the lone striker, Oh put on a one-man show with a brace, helping Besiktas to a 3-2 win. He also recorded an assist, giving him a hand in all three of the team's goals.

The victory gave Besiktas back-to-back wins in the league phase, following a 4-1 triumph over Olympique de Marseille of France in the opening round.

Oh's two goals and one assist on Friday brought his season tally to three goals and three assists in 14 official matches.

Oh, who started the match, got his one-man show going in the 60th minute when he helped set up Amir Murillo's opening goal.

From a Besiktas left corner kick, Oh attempted a right-footed shot in front of goal that rolled toward Murillo, who tapped it in. UEFA credited Oh with the assist.

Oh was the standout player in the ensuing back-and-forth. Besiktas conceded an equalizer to Fisnik Asllani in the 68th minute, but Oh struck twice in seven minutes to restore the lead. In the 72nd minute, he finished a through ball from Junior Olaitan with his right foot on the counter-attack to make it 2-1. Then in the 79th minute, he converted a low cross from Ilhan Fakili on the right with a sliding finish to make it 3-1.

Besiktas conceded again in the 88th minute, just after Oh was substituted off, but held on to win 3-2. Oh's performance proved decisive.

After the match, football statistics outlet Fotmob gave Oh a rating of 9.4 — the highest of any player on either side. He also received the top rating of 9.3 on SofaScore.

"It was a really intense match," Oh said. "The manager told us we had to fight, and I showed that on the pitch. I'm happy we won. As long as the manager and the fans believe in me, I'll give everything I have."

Jo Gyu-sung, who plays for FC Midtjylland in Denmark, also found the net in the UEFA Conference League.

Jo started in Midtjylland's 2026-27 UECL league-phase opener against Egnatia of Albania at Elbasan Arena in Albania, and equalized in the 33rd minute when his side trailed 0-1.

He headed home a cross delivered from the right by Rasmus Kristensen to level the score.

Midtjylland finished 1-1 with no further goals, and Jo's tally for the season stands at four goals and one assist in official competition.
