Five-day event runs Oct. 21-25, featuring more than 30 brands and 12 themed spaces
Art-inspired gym equipment, regional food culture classes, ondol sauna and DJ performances on offer
Hanwha General Insurance announced Thursday it will hold a five-day urban wellness festival called "Wellness Cruise Hannam" at its Hannam-dong headquarters in Seoul from Oct. 21 to Oct. 25.
The event marks the insurer's first wellness culture project. It was designed around the company's corporate mission of being a "leading partner in customer wellness," offering visitors hands-on experiences in physical health, mental well-being, relationships and everyday living. The festival's name draws on the concept of a cruise voyage — where the journey itself is as meaningful as the destination — with the aim of helping people step away from busy routines and discover a wellness approach that suits them through exercise, food and rest.
More than 30 brands will take part, including PLUS CLOVR, a wellness brand for pregnant women, new mothers and those in the child-rearing stage, developed under Hanwha Financial's shared brand "PLUS." Twelve themed spaces covering exercise, food and relaxation will be set up throughout the Hannam headquarters, with experiential programs combining art, regional food culture and music.
The centerpiece space is "Yachae GYM," a fusion of art and exercise. Part of the "Yachae GYM" series created by artist duo BBK — Jang Jong-wan and Jang Jun-ho — the installation lets visitors use workout equipment reimagined as works of art.
Food culture programming is another highlight. "Ipmal Eumsik," a project dedicated to researching and documenting food and ingredients from across the country, will introduce regional festive dishes and seasonal produce, running classes where participants can learn about and taste the culinary traditions of Andong, Gangwon Province, Hamgyeong Province and other regions. At the café and bar area, specialty coffee brand Perlen will operate a non-alcoholic bar serving coffee and tea crafted to evoke the flavors of spirits, while visitors can also sample alternative coffee from Sans and heritage-grain baked goods from Jeongnam Mimyeonggwa.
For relaxation, an ondol-style sauna by Sasasa will be available across a 660-square-meter space. In partnership with Ceiling Service, the area will host a meditation program using ambient sound, lighting and fragrance.
A casino-themed space will let visitors take a wellness personality test developed by Hanwha General Insurance's femtech research lab in a game-show format, helping them reflect on their lifestyle habits and personal tendencies.
Special programming rounds out the schedule. DJ sets by electronic musician Cifika will be performed on Oct. 23 and 24, and four speakers will give talks on life balance and everyday energy on Oct. 24 and 25.
The festival runs daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is free to enter without a ticket. Some experiences and classes will require a fee or advance reservation. Full schedules and registration details are available on the official website.
"Wellness Cruise Hannam was prepared so that customers can discover a wellness approach that fits them through a variety of cultural experiences," a Hanwha General Insurance official said. "We will continue to add new experiences and value to customers' daily lives as a leading partner in customer wellness."
Meanwhile, Hanwha General Insurance has been expanding its women's wellness business both online and offline. Earlier this month, it launched an official YouTube channel, PLUS CLOVR TV, addressing concerns women face during pregnancy, childbirth and child-rearing with the help of experts. On Oct. 22, the company plans to host the "PLUS CLOVR Prenatal Wellness Talk," inviting expectant mothers to share their concerns and hear from specialists. Registration is available through the PLUS CLOVR official Instagram account.
