The Korea Food Industry Association will co-host a K-food gastronomy event, "The Korean Pantry," with global culinary authority La Liste in Paris on Tuesday.

The event is being held in conjunction with SIAL Paris 2026, one of the world's leading food trade fairs, with the goal of turning K-food products on display at the expo into concrete business opportunities for the local culinary industry. The association is running an 87-booth "K-Food Leading Companies Pavilion" at SIAL Paris, which runs from Saturday through Wednesday, alongside 11 major South Korean food companies.

About 60 local chefs, ingredient buyers and industry professionals have been invited to the event, where dishes from various cuisines made with Korean ingredients will be showcased to highlight their potential as versatile culinary staples. Six companies — Daedoo Foods, Samyang Foods, Sempio Foods, Ourhome, Youngpoong and Pulmuone — are participating, presenting special menus that reinterpret their signature products through French culinary techniques.

Featured dishes include a kimchi gazpacho made with Sempio Foods' "Yondu" seasoning and Pulmuone's kimchi; a noodle dish combining Ourhome's "Haenam Seaweed Pesto," Sempio Foods' perilla oil and Pulmuone's tofu noodles; and a salad tart using Samyang Foods' Buldak sauce and Pulmuone's tofu tenders. Also on the menu are a beurre noisette-glazed dish featuring Youngpoong's tteokbokki rice cakes and Sempio Foods' "Ssamtojang" soybean paste, and a cream puff made with Daedoo Foods' glazed chestnuts, sweet red bean paste and white rice flour mix.

"Now that K-food is drawing global attention, what matters is not just promoting our products but making them a natural choice that chefs around the world reach for in their own kitchens," association President Park Jin-sun said. "We will continue to expand new export opportunities for Korean food companies and build a stronger foundation for entering the European market."
