Gangnam-gu will host a multicultural festival for foreign residents and tourists — the Gangnam Global Festa — at the Gangnam Square plaza outside Exit 11 of Gangnam Station on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The event brings together foreign residents and tourists in Gangnam to experience Korean traditional and contemporary culture firsthand and to share and learn about one another's cultures. Held at Gangnam Station — one of the district's most iconic landmarks and a hub of foot traffic and international visitors — the festival aims to showcase Korea's diverse appeal to foreign guests while offering locals a rich opportunity for multicultural exchange.

A K-culture experience zone will be set up at the venue to engage visitors. Activities include making K-pop Demon Hunters "God" keyrings, making dalgona, getting Taegukgi face paintings, making norigae ornaments and crafting Hunminjeongeum name keyrings — a lineup that blends traditional Korean cultural elements with the latest trends.

A stage program will also run throughout the event. The opening ceremony will feature the Gangnam Global Village Choir performing "One Fine Day in October" and "We Are the World," followed by a foreign residents' sogo drum dance performance, a traditional wedding costume (daeryebok) demonstration and a gugak band performance, all expected to energize the crowd.

"This event will be a meaningful occasion for foreign residents and tourists to deepen their understanding and enjoyment of Korean culture," Gangnam-gu District Mayor Kim Hyun-ki said. "We will continue to expand opportunities for diverse cultures to coexist and communicate closely, in keeping with Gangnam's reputation as a world-class global city."
