Goryeong-gun in North Gyeongsang Province will host Daegaya Science Week on weekends from Oct. 31 to Nov. 8, with events taking place at the Goryeong Children's Science Experience Center and the Daegaya Lifestyle Village, the county announced Friday.

Themed "Mysterious Weekend Laboratory," the science festival combines hands-on programs that blend the history of the ancient Daegaya kingdom with science, alongside special performances and a range of other activities.

Programs include casting and forging experiences that let visitors explore Daegaya's iron-working culture, as well as family-friendly activities such as a science investigation challenge, a gravity track building game and a static electricity demonstration.

Special performances are also scheduled throughout the event. On Oct. 31, popular YouTuber "Egg Doctor" will take the stage, and a Transformer robot show is set for Nov. 7 — both at the waterfront stage at the Daegaya Lifestyle Village.

Additional programs include a Daegaya-themed O/X quiz, family recreation activities and a science magic show.

"We hope this event gives children a chance to feel closer to science while experiencing the history and culture of Daegaya in a meaningful way," a county official said.
