Company launches first 'snack truck' appreciation event for police
Hite Jinro announced Friday it will expand support for the safety sector, one of four pillars in its corporate social responsibility program alongside environment, sharing and youth.
The company has partnered with the National Fire Agency since 2018 to support firefighters, including efforts to improve their working conditions. This year, it is extending that support to police officers.
A "snack truck of appreciation" for police officers will make sequential visits to seven stations in South Chungcheong Province from Oct. 14 through Nov. 4. The recipients are the South Chungcheong Provincial Police Agency — which counts a large number of officers recognized this year for excellence in public safety, investigations and community safety — along with the Cheonan Seobook, Cheonan Dongnam, Asan, Nonsan, Dangjin and Seocheon police stations.
Hite Jinro will provide snacks and beverages to 2,918 officers across those stations as a gesture of gratitude and encouragement. The snack menu — churros, corn dogs and cup fruit — was selected based on a preference survey conducted through the Korean National Police Agency.
After a pilot run in partnership with the South Chungcheong Provincial Police Agency and the South Chungcheong Council of Social Welfare, Hite Jinro plans to expand the police officer support program to other regions.
"We have extended our support from firefighters to police officers starting this year, to convey our gratitude and encouragement to those who dedicate themselves on the front lines for public safety," said Jang In-seop, chief executive of Hite Jinro.
