Korea Maritime and Ocean University signed an MOU with Busan's Dong-gu on Thursday, establishing a cooperative framework between the university and the local community. The agreement aims to strengthen future competitiveness, nurture local talent, drive innovation in the maritime industry and promote sustainable regional development.
Under the MOU, the two institutions agreed to collaborate across maritime education, maritime industry development and regional cooperation. The partnership is expected to generate significant synergies by combining the university's education and research capabilities with Dong-gu's maritime infrastructure.
"The agreement with Busan's Dong-gu will serve as an important opportunity to share the university's specialized maritime expertise with the local community and accelerate the development of a future maritime hub centered on the North Port," said Ryu Dong-geun, president of Korea Maritime and Ocean University.
