Seoul's Dongdaemun-gu will hold the 2026 Itda Market at the open plaza of Baebongsan Neighborhood Park on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the district announced Friday.

The event aims to create a local festival where residents can come together while giving social economy businesses and small merchants a platform to expand their sales channels and raise their profiles. Last year's edition drew more than 1,300 residents.

This year's market features four programs: a "shared economy expo" offering hands-on activities to introduce social economy concepts in an accessible way, a lifestyle goods sale paired with craft workshops, visitor participation events, and a family playground with activities for all ages. More than 30 vendors — including social economy enterprises, local small businesses and handmade artisans — will sell a range of products spanning food, lifestyle goods and handcrafted items.

At the shared economy expo, participating businesses will display and promote their products and services through interactive programs designed to make social economy concepts more approachable. The family playground will offer four types of family activities — including jegi, a traditional Korean shuttlecock game, and a stepping game — giving families a space for fun and relaxation.

Dongdaemun-gu District Mayor Choi Dong-min said the Itda Market "goes beyond a simple sales event — it is a place that spreads the value of mutual growth by connecting local production and consumption, and linking residents with one another." He added that he hoped the event would "help social economy businesses and small merchants expand their reach and invigorate the local economy."
