The 11th Policy Research Committee of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Assembly held its 2026 workshop Wednesday at the assembly's multipurpose hall in Andong, drawing about 40 participants including committee members, the assembly speaker, the provincial governor, outside experts and related civil servants.
The workshop featured two special lectures: one on wellness routines to support sustainable legislative activity, and another exploring policy empathy through an artistic approach.
The first session, titled "A Wellness Routine for Healthy Legislative Activity," examined practical health management strategies and the importance of self-care, with participants exploring ways to maintain vitality in their work as assembly members.
The second session, "Healing the Legislative Mind and Gaining Policy Empathy Through Art Psychology," used Art & Mind techniques to help participants understand their own emotions and thoughts while viewing others' experiences and lives from a range of perspectives.
Policy Research Committee Chairman Baek Sun-chang said he hoped the workshop would give members a chance to step back from the intensity of their legislative work, recharge and return with the energy to listen more deeply to residents and craft policies that truly resonate with them.
Assembly Speaker Kim Hee-su said in a congratulatory address that he expected the workshop to strengthen the committee members' capabilities and serve as a stepping stone toward an open assembly that works alongside the people of the province.
