Integrated parking model pairs indoor 'Parky' with outdoor 'Stan'
Full autonomous parking process to be demonstrated
Digital twin control system sets new standard for outdoor parking
HL Robotics, a wholly owned subsidiary of HL Holdings, said Friday it will showcase Stan, the world's first outdoor autonomous parking robot, at the 2026 32nd ITS World Congress in Gangneung.
The event runs from Monday through Oct. 23 at Olympic Park in Gangneung, Gangwon Province. HL Robotics plans to demonstrate Stan's autonomous driving technology and a digital twin-based integrated control system as the company moves to expand its foothold in South Korea's parking and vehicle logistics markets.
The demonstration will feature two Stan units showing the full operational cycle of autonomous parking in real-world environments such as airports, including both vehicle entry and exit.
Stan's integrated control system is built on digital twin technology, which replicates the actual parking environment to display the real-time locations of robots and vehicles, their movement paths and task status — all rendered on-site.
When multiple robots operate simultaneously, the system coordinates movement paths and task sequences to avoid collisions and pre-positions vehicles scheduled for retrieval.
HL Robotics is also developing an integrated indoor-outdoor parking solution. The company plans to combine its indoor parking robot Parky with Stan to automate vehicle entry and exit across a range of environments. The system is expected to be used in complex parking settings such as airports.
"Domestic parking robots have so far been introduced and commercialized mainly for indoor use, but outdoor parking is also a major segment of the market," said Kim Yun-gi, chief executive of HL Robotics. "We will present Stan's outdoor autonomous driving technology and integrated control system at the ITS World Congress and work to expand its adoption in South Korea."
Meanwhile, HL Robotics recently signed an MOU with Samsung C&T's construction division to develop next-generation residential solutions based on the autonomous parking robot Parky.
The two companies are working toward a smart residential environment built around the goal of "zero parking stress." Their collaboration aims to go beyond simple parking convenience, using Parky to transform the lifestyle of apartment residents.
