All three major US stock indexes closed higher Thursday (local time), lifted by a sharp decline in Treasury yields.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 556.21 points, or 1.08 percent, to finish at 52,177.69 on the New York Stock Exchange.
The S&P 500 gained 25.12 points, or 0.33 percent, to close at 7,744.06, while the technology-heavy NASDAQ Composite added 20.16 points, or 0.08 percent, to end at 26,713.03.
Technology shares came under pressure early in the session amid concerns over the profitability of AI investment and financing costs, but a steep drop in Treasury yields helped the sector pare losses and turn positive by the close.
