Singer Seo In-young has revealed that she once dated a Japanese man.

A video titled "The ultimate gyaru look that even Japanese people will be shocked by — revealed for the first time" was posted Wednesday on her YouTube channel "Gaegwacheoonseon Seo In-young."

When the production crew brought up her Japanese ex-boyfriend during the video, Seo acknowledged that she had indeed dated a Japanese man.

Surprised by the revelation, the crew asked whether the two had been able to communicate. Seo said they got by using gestures and, more recently, a translation app on her phone.

She added that they dated for more than three years while relying on a translation app. "Not being able to talk actually made the relationship last longer," she said with a laugh. "You hold back what you want to say — because you just can't say it."
