Event runs 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with hands-on programs and performances

Dongducheon will host the 23rd Youth Constellation Science Festival and Music Festival at the city's main stadium on Oct. 24.

Organized by the city and run by the civic group Eosuhoe, the festival is a flagship youth constellation event for northern Gyeonggi Province, designed to foster scientific creativity among young people and promote local culture and the arts. Activities will run from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The first half of the day, beginning at 11 a.m., will feature science and career experience booths, hands-on demonstrations of fourth-industrial-revolution technologies — including AI, drones and virtual reality — as well as fire department and national security equipment displays, and a software and AI competition. New additions this year include a hot-air balloon ride and a performance by a large Titan robot.

A formal ceremony at 5 p.m. will open the second half of the day, a youth music festival headlined by popular girl group Fifty Fifty alongside invited singers Gyeongseo, Lil Jaewoo and Wetboy, spanning a range of musical genres.

At 8 p.m., a fireworks display will light up the autumn night sky, followed by a stargazing program using high-powered telescopes to observe planets and constellations — bringing the festival to a close.

"We hope this constellation science festival will be a precious opportunity for our young people to nurture their dreams about space and science, and to create unforgettable memories with family and friends," said Lee Eun-suk, head of the family support division. "We will also do our utmost to ensure safety management on the ground so that everyone can enjoy a safe and fun festival."
