Samsung Electronics held "The Brief," a Southeast Asia home appliance tech seminar, in Hanoi, Vietnam on Wednesday, the company announced Thursday. The event showcased AI home appliances and B2B solutions targeting the Southeast Asian market.

The seminar took place at Samsung's Business Experience Studio, which opened in August, and drew key media representatives and influencers from Southeast Asian countries including Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.

Samsung Electronics introduced its AI home experience, in which appliances understand users' lifestyles and circumstances and suggest tailored solutions. The company also demonstrated the "AI Vision" feature — a camera-based system built into its refrigerators that helps users efficiently store and manage food ingredients.

Through AI Vision, users can check the status of their refrigerator contents in real time. Frequently used ingredients are automatically saved to a database, and the refrigerator uses that information to alert users when items need to be repurchased.

Samsung also presented differentiated product care services, including Home Remote Management, which allows professional consultants to remotely analyze appliance conditions in detail and guide users on appropriate action, as well as free software upgrades of up to seven years for Wi-Fi-enabled products.

The company also unveiled air conditioning solutions designed to deliver optimized cooling across a range of spaces — including residential and commercial facilities — reflecting Southeast Asia's hot and humid climate and local usage environments.

On the residential side, Samsung introduced the Bespoke AI WindFree Combo Pro wall-mounted air conditioner, which controls airflow according to users' living patterns and spatial conditions.

For B2B customers, the company exhibited the DVM S2 outdoor unit and the WindFree 1-Way and 4-Way ceiling cassette indoor units — system air conditioners applicable to large buildings such as hotels and offices.

The air conditioning business is growing rapidly in Southeast Asia. Samsung Electronics has been expanding its B2B operations across Southeast Asia and Oceania, with the B2B share of regional HVAC sales rising from 29 percent in 2021 to more than 50 percent this year.

The company has also been building a track record of major contracts. It has supplied WindFree air conditioners to more than 6,000 units across CapitaLand in Ho Chi Minh City and the Starlake residential complex in Hanoi, Vietnam, as well as the Sheraton Nai Harn Hotel in Phuket, Thailand.

"We will deliver real value and convenience to both Southeast Asian customers and B2B partners, backed by Samsung Electronics' differentiated AI technology and connectivity," said Lee Sang-jik, executive vice president of Samsung Electronics' Digital Appliances Business Division.
