Diagnosing risk factors in the Korean economy; sharing strategies for managing counterparty credit risk
Korea Credit Data (Kodata) and global credit insurer Coface will jointly examine external risks facing the South Korean economy and explore corporate credit risk management strategies.
Kodata announced Wednesday that it will co-host the "2026 Country Risk Conference: Understanding and Responding to Risk in an Age of Uncertainty" with Coface on Oct. 21 at the Conrad Seoul hotel in Yeouido. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding in April last year to build a framework for global information cooperation.
Held to mark Coface's 80th anniversary, the event will examine how global uncertainties — including the spread of war — are affecting domestic businesses, and share strategies for managing credit risks posed by domestic and overseas counterparties.
Coface East Asia Economist Jun Yu Tan will open with a presentation on South Korea's 2026 economic outlook and response strategies amid global uncertainty. Henrik Bertelsen, head of business information for Asia-Pacific, will discuss approaches to business growth built on trust amid volatility, while Raphael Rouslot, head of underwriting for Asia-Pacific, will present an analysis of corporate insolvency risks and Coface's credit assessment strategy.
From Kodata, Data Science Center Director Lee Ho-yeol will present methods for detecting corporate relationship risks using data and AI.
Kodata earlier launched KOgrid, a corporate network service that provides information on inter-company relationships that cannot be identified through equity-method affiliate data alone.
AX Support Division Director Lee Rae-hyeong will present on the future of financial intelligence transformed by AI, outlining ways businesses can apply AI to corporate management. Kodata has recently been expanding its related services with the launch of Cretop AI Plus, a platform that uses AI for corporate analysis and valuation.
The event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. and requires advance registration for all seats. "We hope companies will come away from this conference with effective answers for building management strategies and preventing and managing risk," a Kodata official said.
