Eunhaesa, the head temple of the 10th district of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, announced Wednesday it will hold the sixth edition of the "Jungak Palgongsan Silver Culture Festival" over two days this Saturday and Sunday to mark the temple's 1,217th founding anniversary.

The festival opens Saturday with the inaugural ceremony of a historical exhibition on righteous monk soldiers, followed by a joint memorial service honoring righteous monks and militia fighters from the Imjin War. That evening, a rock concert titled "Geungnakdorak" — celebrating the victory in the Battle of Yeongcheon Fortress — will feature performances by Yukjungwan Band, Kim Gi-tae Band and Son Jin-uk Band.

On Sunday, the Cheongtonng Pungmuldan troupe will lead a Sacheonwangje pungmul street procession before the main founding ceremony, Gaesandaejae, commemorating the temple's 1,217th anniversary. The ceremony will begin with the ringing of the bell and the Three Refuges ritual, followed by remarks from the head monk, commendations for contributors to local Buddhism and a communal recitation of the Cheongbeop hymn.

That evening, the festival will close with the Silver Music Concert, featuring popular singers including Park Seo-jin, Son Bin-a and Seong-ri, as well as Lee So-na, Heo Chan-mi, Hong Seong-yun and Yeom Yu-ri — all top-seven finalists from Miss Trot.

Throughout the two days, visitors can also enjoy standing programs including a storytelling exhibition on Eunhaesa's history, a tea meditation rest area and hands-on historical and cultural experiences, alongside a market selling Yeongcheon's local agricultural and specialty products.
