Namdong-gu in Incheon has launched a full-scale support drive to strengthen the global competitiveness of local small and medium-sized enterprises and help them break into Central Asian markets.
The district held a briefing session for 15 participating companies ahead of the "2026 Overseas Market Development Mission," which will dispatch a delegation to Almaty, Kazakhstan, next month.
The mission was organized to help local businesses diversify their export channels and secure new growth engines amid persistent global economic uncertainty driven by high inflation and high interest rates.
The delegation will operate in Kazakhstan from Nov. 2 to Nov. 5. Key programs include one-on-one export consultations with local buyers, a product sample exhibition and on-site marketing activities.
The district has put in place a comprehensive support system to ease the burden on participating companies and help them achieve tangible results. Support covers overseas buyer matching as well as airfare, professional local interpretation, and exhibition and sample shipping costs.
"The economic vitality of Namdong-gu, home to the Namdong National Industrial Complex, hinges on the export capabilities of local small and medium-sized enterprises," Namdong-gu District Mayor Lee Byung-rae said. "Starting with Kazakhstan as a gateway to Central Asia, we will spare no administrative support to help local companies secure new export opportunities."
