Yeungnam University of Science and Technology signed an MOU with the Daegu Tourism Association on Monday at the university's Cheonma History Museum, aimed at expanding part-time employment and field training opportunities for international students and strengthening capacity to serve foreign tourists.

The signing ceremony was attended by Yeungnam University of Science and Technology President Lee Jae-yong, Daegu Tourism Association Chairman Lee Yong-su and about 10 representatives from both organizations.

Under the agreement, the two institutions will exchange information to promote mutual understanding and cooperation, provide international students with part-time employment and field training opportunities at tourism association member companies, and collaborate on education, equipment and facilities to support tourism workforce training programs for those member companies.

Yeungnam University of Science and Technology has been expanding support to help international students not only succeed academically but also settle stably as members of the local community.

The university has worked to offer programs addressing lifestyle adjustment, career planning and employment readiness for international students, while partnering with industry and local organizations to give students broad hands-on experience.

"This agreement creates a valuable opportunity for international students to build practical skills in the local tourism industry, drawing on their language abilities and cultural backgrounds," President Lee said.
