AI systems analyze sleep temperature and usage time to adjust heating

Additional airings Oct. 22 and Oct. 28 with interest-free and discount offers

Kiturami is bringing its AI-powered carbon mat to home shopping channels, offering a heating product that automatically adjusts based on sleep patterns and whether the user is present — switching to power-saving mode when the user steps away and returning to normal heating mode when they come back.

The company said it will debut the "2027 Model 3rd-Generation Carbon Mat AI Ondol" on GS Home Shopping at 10:55 p.m. Monday in a 60-minute broadcast. Additional 60-minute airings are scheduled for Oct. 22 and Oct. 28, each starting at 6:35 p.m.

The product features two AI systems: an "AI Sleep Control System" and an "AI Temperature Management System." Users activate AI mode by pressing the AI button at the center of the smart remote for three seconds.

The AI Sleep Control System analyzes the user's preferred sleep temperature and usage time to regulate the mat's heat. The AI Temperature Management System detects when the user leaves and shifts to power-saving mode, then switches back to the previous AI mode upon their return.

Kiturami said it has completed testing by Korea Testing Certification (KTC) covering the accuracy of optimal sleep temperature application, sleep duration calculation, and user absence and return detection. However, the company did not disclose specific accuracy figures for each category or the rate of power consumption reduction under power-saving mode.

The heating element uses an "aramid carbon heating wire" made with aramid fiber, which has passed an 800,000-bend durability test. The mat fabric blends Tencel and AeroSilver, and the product has received washable certification for up to five machine washes.

During Monday's first broadcast, five viewers will be selected in a draw to receive a carbon mat; subsequent broadcasts will each offer three. Buyers during the broadcast can choose between 24-month interest-free installments or a 10,000-won ($7) lump-sum discount. App orders receive an additional 10,000-won discount. Affiliated card discounts and reward points apply according to each card's terms.

Kiturami is also selling a separate "Carbon Mat Ondol Premium KME Series" on NS Home Shopping, with broadcast dates on Oct. 18, Oct. 21, Oct. 24, Oct. 26 and Oct. 30. Three viewers will be drawn each broadcast to receive a carbon mat.
