Integrity booth at 24th Citizens' Day promotes civic participation
Pocheon operated an integrity booth at the 24th Citizens' Day event held Sunday at Pocheon General Stadium, promoting anti-corruption and integrity culture among residents.
The booth was designed around citizen-participation programs to help residents understand the value of integrity in an accessible and engaging way, while also giving them a platform to share their views on city administration.
At the booth, officials conducted an anti-corruption and integrity survey asking residents about their perceptions of Pocheon's integrity standards, any difficulties they had experienced in the complaint-handling process, and areas where licensing and permit administration could be made fairer or improved. The results will be used to incorporate public opinion into city governance and integrity policy.
In addition, the city promoted its Public Official Misconduct Reporting Center, informing visitors of how and where to report corrupt behavior, and encouraged greater public attention and participation in building a clean public service culture.
"Integrity is strengthened not only through the efforts of public officials, but when citizens' attention and participation come together with those efforts," said Jo Yeong-je, the city's audit officer. "We will actively reflect the opinions gathered through this event in our integrity policies and work to realize fair and transparent administration that citizens can trust and feel in their daily lives."
