Participating in Fakuma 2026, an international plastics processing trade show
High-performance material resistant to impact, wear and chemicals
Gaining attention as a component material for humanoid robots
Discussions planned on expanding Poketone applications
Hyosung Chemical will participate in a major European plastics processing trade show to introduce its next-generation material Poketone to the market.
The company said Monday it is taking part in Fakuma 2026, an international plastics processing exhibition running through Friday (local time) in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
Hyosung Chemical will present Poketone — a high-value specialty material — under the theme "Automotive, Robotics, Medical" at the exhibition. Poketone is a high-performance plastic resistant to impact, abrasion and chemicals, making it suitable for a wide range of industries. It has particularly drawn attention as a component material for humanoid robots, which must withstand repetitive motion and friction.
At the show, the company will display automotive connectors, gears, drive components and medical parts made with Poketone to highlight real-world applications of the material. On Wednesday, it will also hold a technical seminar under the theme "Proven Worldwide, Engineered Forward" to discuss ways to expand Poketone's range of uses.
Hyosung Chemical plans to broaden Poketone's role as a material for future industries — including electric vehicles and robotics — as it pursues expansion into global markets, including Europe.
"Poketone is expanding its potential across a wide range of industries, including electric vehicles, robotics and medical applications," said Lee Cheon-seok, chief executive of Hyosung Chemical. "We will continue to grow Poketone's application areas through collaboration and tailored technology support, in step with industry shifts that demand both sustainability and high performance."
