A man in the United States bought 50 lottery tickets with the same number combination and won on every single one, walking away with a total of $250,000.

UPI reported Tuesday (local time) that a man living in the Lowcountry region of South Carolina purchased 50 Pick 4 lottery tickets in August, visiting multiple convenience stores to buy them.

He made his rounds at several convenience stores in the Summerville area, repeatedly buying tickets with the same number combination. He said he had a good feeling about the combination 0-5-0-0 and decided to buy in bulk.

That evening's drawing revealed 0-5-0-0 as the winning combination. The man received $5,000 per ticket, bringing his total winnings to $250,000.

"I probably won't play those numbers again," he said. "I don't think I'm lucky enough for that to happen again."

The story drew widespread attention online in South Korea, with users joking that it was "proof that time machines exist" and asking whether "time travelers are actually real."

Pick 4 is a numbers-based lottery game sold in the United States in which players choose four digits, each ranging from 0 to 9, with repeated digits allowed. In South Carolina, drawings are held twice daily. Players can win in two main ways: a "straight" match, which requires all four digits in the exact order drawn, or a "box" match, which pays out when the digits match regardless of order.
