BTS member RM has appealed to fans gathering outside his hotel, asking them to embrace a more considerate fan culture.

With BTS in the middle of a world tour, RM wrote Thursday on the fan communication platform Weverse that the group had arrived in Peru for the first time. "It's my first time ever coming to Peru, so I'm incredibly excited and happy," he wrote.

He went on to say that fans stationed outside the hotel all day were causing serious difficulties for the members and staff. "It's so loud that it reaches inside our rooms and none of us are getting enough sleep," he wrote. "On top of that, we're causing a great deal of inconvenience to the other guests staying at the same hotel."

RM said he was grateful for the warm welcome and enthusiasm, but warned that performances would suffer if the members could not get enough rest and sleep. He asked fans not to linger outside hotels not only in Lima but also in Chile, Brazil, Argentina and the Asian countries on the tour's later itinerary.

"I believe that ARMY, the greatest fans in the world, will understand and won't do this," he wrote. "I hope we can have a more mature and mutually proud relationship. We will give everything we have at today's show. Always grateful and love you."

BTS members have made similar appeals before. V and Jungkook said in August that they encountered about 20 fans outside their hotel in the early hours of the morning after a US show, and asked fans to respect their privacy.

BTS is currently on its world tour "Arirang." The group will hold "BTS World Tour 'Arirang' in Lima" at Estadio San Marcos in Lima, Peru, on Wednesday, and on Friday and Saturday (local time).
