Ulleung-gun in North Gyeongsang Province has appointed bestselling author, YouTuber and outdoor expert Oh Se-jin as its promotional ambassador, the county announced Sunday.

Oh has visited Ulleungdo consistently over the past five years, exploring the island's natural landscapes firsthand and experiencing its distinctive beauty and charm up close.

"I want to share the appeal of Ulleungdo that I have felt — honestly and sincerely — with as many people as possible, and I take the responsibility of being Ulleung-gun's ambassador seriously," Oh said.

Ulleung-gun County Chief Nam Han-kwon said he was "very pleased" to welcome Oh to the role and expressed hope that Oh would "play a major part in raising the brand value of Ulleung-gun."
